Therapies in Texas?
Tuesday February 24, 2009

Hi Alice,

I so much appreciate your insights and wisdom espoused in your book, "The Drama of the Gifted Child." I tried to read it when I was in graduate school, but I was steep in denial and it did not make sense to me. After my "nervous breakdown" about 4 years ago, all the feelings from my childhood came crashing in. Now the book is "telling my story" and validating why I struggle the way I do.

I am better, but I still have a long way to go. I have a wonderful, caring therapist that I see. However, I am hoping to find someone that can even go even "deeper" with me. Currently, I live in Texas. Is there a list of "providers" that I can access to find someone who specializes in the treatment of unresolved childhood issues and has a psychoanalytic approach?

Blessings,

D in Texas.

p.s. you can "publish" this letter if you feel it would be helpful to other readers.

AM: I don't recommend the psychoanalytic approach. Please read the first two messages on the page "articles".
