AM: Why do you think that you have to forgive your parents? And what do you expect from doing this?

Because that's what everyone kept telling me to do - counselors i've seen and my mother. Always being the people pleaser I felt an obligement to go along with what they said and I didn't expect anything at all to start with. However when i've offered forgiveness its only ever left a hollow feeling inside me that just doesn't feel quite right. Almost as if forgiving was the last thing i wanted to actually do. 'Why should I forgive her is the question i've started asking myself.

AM: You should never do what is “the last thing that you actually want to do" – even if hundred counselors say that you should. Rather ask your body what it tells you to do.
